This online presentation convened by Jackie Robertson, Chair Business National Group, showcases opportunities for physiotherapists to obtain government funding while helping to address some of Australia’s greatest health challenges.
Governments around Australia are becoming aware of the important role that allied health plays in improving the health and well-being of the Australian community. They are increasingly looking to fund allied health providers in private practice to provide services across different areas of the health and social care system, including primary health care, aged care and disability services. This creates opportunities for physiotherapists to obtain funding to deliver new services and programs, either independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
This webinar will include strategies for identifying funding opportunities and developing funding proposals to maximise success.
Jennifer Doggett is one of Australia’s preeminent health policy thought leaders. For over 20 years, Jennifer has worked in government and with professional, industry and consumer groups on complex health policy and systems issues. Jennifer has extensive experience in developing and implementing media and communications campaigns at a state and national level that have influenced community attitudes on a range of health issues. Jennifer has also worked on a broad range of consumer health issues, including undertaking a communications audit for the Consumers Health Forum and a number of consultancy projects focussed on consumers’ experience of health care and out-of-pocket health care costs. Jennifer is a Fellow of the Centre for Policy Development and a contributing editor to online health publication Croakey. She has worked for a broad range of consumer, industry and professional groups in the health sector. She has a Masters in Public Health and a Graduate Diploma in Health Economics.
Kelly Dargan has spent over 10 years working across a wide range of public health and social policy issues in Australia and internationally. Kelly has worked in both government and non-government sectors on a variety of issues, with a particular focus on health, and has led strategic planning, policy development and complex stakeholder negotiations for several national health bodies and peak medical bodies. Kelly has authored publishable works including policy papers, strategies and briefing documents, tender proposals and grant application. To date, Kelly has led and supported funding proposals successfully securing over $450 million. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Population Health & Aboriginal Health) from the University of Wollongong, and completed a Master’s of International Public Health at the University of Queensland in 2012.
