Hip/groin pain is common in active people and can result in reduced physical activity and quality of life. However, there is currently little consensus on classification, assessment, best practice management and prevention of hip/groin pain. An update of the current research on hip/groin pain and the results of the recent consensus meeting will be presented in this lecture. A discussion of evidence-based practice for clinicians managing athletes with hip/groin pain will be presented.
